The CPPC is excited to host its first Atlantic Public Procurement Power Session on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Casino New Brunswick in Moncton. This free afternoon event will give you an opportunity to gain new insights before the 2025 Atlantic Provinces Reverse Trade Show on October 21st.

This event will provide you with new knowledge and strategies. It will give you a preview of the type of programming you can expect at our next CPPC Annual Forum in Fredericton on May 3-6, 2026.

  • 3:00 – How to Prevent and Detect Bid-Rigging in Your Procurement Processes – Presented by Majid Charania, Director of Compliance and Outreach, Competition Bureau Canada

Public procurement is vulnerable to bid-rigging, especially in uncertain economic times when suppliers may take risks to increase profits, making it essential for procurement professionals to understand competition law, apply preventative strategies during tender design and drafting, and use tools like the Competition Bureau’s Collusion Risk Assessment Tool to detect and minimize collusion risks while promoting fair engagement with the vendor community.

  • 4:00 – A New Era of Public Procurement: Striving for Excellence – Presented by  François Émond, Canadian Public Procurement Council

This session will explore how the Canadian Public Procurement Council (CPPC) is positioning itself as a national center of excellence for public procurement professionals across Canada. We will also delve into the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) Award. This annual award not only recognizes leading organizations but also serves as a vital tool to help organizations benchmark their processes and align them with best practices in the field.
