CPPC and Civia partner to help CPPC members collaborate, share, and access AI together easily and safely

The Canadian Public Procurement Council (CPPC) and Civia Inc, a leading provider of innovative AI solutions and communication tools tailored for the public sector, are thrilled to announce a strategic partnership aimed at improving communication and access to advanced AI technologies for CPPC members.

This unique collaboration marks a significant step forward in leveraging technology to enhance membership communication, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and the ability to leverage AI support. By combining Civia’s government-focused AI technology with CPPC’s extensive network and expertise, the partnership is set to empower individuals and procurement teams alike and support the increasingly challenging roles of sourcing and spend management Canada-wide.

Key Benefits of the Partnership:

  • Enhanced Communication: Members of CPPC will gain access to Civia’s comprehensive public sector directory, private CPPC member forums for discussion and their advanced AI platform, Civia GovAI, enabling more effective and streamlined interactions.
  • Tailored AI Solution: public sector AI technologies developed by Civia will address the unique challenges faced by members of CPPC and the public sector at large, fostering innovation and problem-solving.
  • Training and Support: The partnership will also include training programs and support services to ensure that all members can fully leverage the benefits of Civia’s directory, including CPPC-specific tagging, private group chats, and AI technologies being implemented.

“We’re thrilled to help CPPC in their goal to deepen procurement collaboration Canada-wide”, said Corry Flatt, co-founder and CEO of Civia. “The CPPC and its members are at the forefront of so many important initiatives, and we share their conviction that easier peer-to-peer collaboration and new, safe AI tools can make a difference as procurement teams rise to the challenges of tomorrow.”

“We are very enthusiastic about this partnership with Civia” said François Émond, Executive Director of the CPPC. “The greatest added value for our members is the possibility to collaborate with peers from all sectors of government across Canada on best practices, daily issues and challenges, and Civia will help us be better at doing it. AI is revolutionizing the way things are done in several industries and we want to work with Civia to be at the forefront in offering AI tools adapted to the government reality and more specifically to our profession.”

The partnership is set to kick off with a series of joint initiatives and workshops starting in early April and leading up to CPPC’s Annual Forum taking place in Montreal, aimed at introducing members to the new platform and outlining the roadmap for the collaboration.

WE NEED YOUR INPUT !

UPPCC is in the process of updating the Body of Knowledge & Competency (BoK-C) for both the CPPO & CPPB certification programs. This is done every five years to ensure the BoK-C’s reflect the current knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be a competent public procurement professional now and into the future. A lot has changed in the past five years and the Job Task Analysis (JTA) process ensures the BoK-C’s reflect those changes.

In order to validate the work the JTA Task Teams have done so far to update the domains and competency statements, it is critical we get input from the entire public procurement community. The benefits to you include:

  1. The opportunity to provide input to improve the CPPO & CPPB certification programs.
  2. The opportunity to earn one UPPCC Contact Hour for completing the survey.

Other Important Information:

  • You do not need to be certified in order to take either survey.
  • You can take both surveys if you feel you can add value in both.
  • Feel free to share this email with other public procurement professionals and encourage them to take the survey.

Here are the links to each survey:

CPPO JTA Survey

UPPCC thanks you in advance for sharing your expertise, for supporting the CPPO & CPPB certification programs and for elevating the profession as a whole. If you have any questions on the JTA process or the survey, please reach out to Beth Harrison at [email protected].

The CPPO and the CPPB are the only globally recognized certifications specifically designed for government procurement professionals. Wholly owned and operated by the independent certifying body, the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council, the CPPO and CPPB represent the premier, independent standards in public procurement certification.

✔ Registration is still available for our Annual Forum this year in Montreal. Join us for this great event, you don’t want to miss it! For further details, visit the “Annual Forum” section of our website.
