The Hospital for Sick Children – Director, Supply Chain

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer (VP/CFO), the Director, Supply Chain (Director) will be accountable for the strategy and operations of the Supply Chain functions (Procurement and Logistics) at SickKids. The new Director will integrate supply chain and logistics services with the hospital’s primary functions, develop and implement policies and procedures that guide, assess, and improve supply chain performance. He/She is responsible for ensuring that SickKids has the right products at the right time and at the right price.  The Director will be a key advisor to the VP/CFO and an important partner with clinical and corporate leaders within the organization. Your Contracting Specialist – Information Technology responsibilities:
 Develop, maintain and manage the WCB’s Cloud Computing Contract Guidelines.
 Negotiate high impact, complex IT contract details and specifications with vendors and service providers to ensure WCB’s risk is mitigated and end-user requirements are met.
 Work closely with Contracting Specialists on the development of competitive bidding documents that capture best in class IT contract requirements, clauses and terms and conditions.
 Assess requirements and advise internal customers and management on various IT competitive contracting practices that will best support business needs.
 Support the competitive bidding process; facilitate communication and cooperation between all participants.
 Provide advice and direction to internal customers on best in industry IT vendor-relationship management issues and strategies so as to maximize value and improve efficiency.
 Support business unit in managing SLA’s, KPI’s, vendor compliance and outcomes on IT contracts.
 Through an ongoing analysis of current practices and lessons learned, recommend and implement process improvements so as to reduce costs and increase productivity.
 Participate with the team to develop corporate procurement policies and procedures. Educate staff and management in policies and procedures so as to set and raise standards, ensure ethical practices are followed, and the WCB is viewed positively by external stakeholders.

As a buyer, you will apply policies and procedures and support the corporate role of Supply Management by working collaboratively with our clients. Primary duties include:

  • Develop sourcing strategies, educating and leading the client through the procurement process. Including management of end to end procurements, including but not limited to composing RFx documents of all types, facilitating the evaluation and award processes and contract lifecycle maintenance.
  • Partner with Business Unit clients to maintain and negotiate additional value add on existing City contracts.
  • Apply relevant procurement legislation, trade agreements, and City Policies to procurement processes and strategies.
